Professional Lighting for Cinematographers Who Don’t Compromise

Aputure NOVA 2 SERIES

Why We Built It

Creating a narrow beam of light traditionally requires a light, a lens, and modifiers. NOVA 9° simplifies this with a panel design with groups of emitters lensed to focus light in a tight, coalesced beam. The result is a narrow beam of light that can replicate a sunbeam in a compact footprint.

Using an extended range version of the BLAIR light engine and the ability to stack fixtures in a 3-light yoke for unified output, NOVA 9° allows you to place the sun anywhere.

Weatherproof, Quiet, Lightweight: Pick All Three

You don’t have to compromise. The advanced structural design of the NOVA II allows it to achieve three goals normally at odds: low noise, low weight, and IP65 weather protection.

Color Tuning Control

Colors Never Before Achieved in a Panel The BLAIR-CG light engine in the NOVA II covers the greatest range of saturated colors of any panel light. Blue/Lime/Amber/Indigo/Red/Cyan/Green emitters cover more than 90% of Rec.2020 color space. There are four blues and two reds, including Extended Red, for increased gamut and saturation. Using x,y and HSIC+ modes, dial in precise colors to match products, create backdrops, and even dial in perfect greenscreen or bluescreen keys to match your camera’s sensor.

A Complete Ecosystem

The NOVA II family is available with a wide range of accessories that make modifying and rigging fast, easy, and precise.

Modifiers attach and stack easily with the front loading QuickClip system. The removable yoke and rigging accessories allow for mounting lights in arrays or even combining NOVA II fixtures into a single, powerful source.

The Brightest Light, Direct or Diffused

NOVA II delivers a direct 35° beam, which remains bright when diffused, providing increased versatility. This is the first panel family to deliver this performance.

The NOVA II uses a unique three part “focus-then-blend” optical formula. Focusing TIR lenses are placed over individual LED emitters. These emitters are packed at a high density on the panel for increased output. Lastly, these lensed emitters are arranged in a complex neutralizing pattern to produce bright, even light with no visible color fringing on subjects.
