The Blackmagic 3G BD SFP Optical Module is a hot pluggable transceiver that adds fiber optic SDI connectivity to any Blackmagic device with an SFP cage. It slots into the standard SFP socket and converts 3G-SDI signals to and from optical fiber, letting you run video over long distances without quality loss.
Using a duplex LC single-mode connection, the module sends and receives, so a pair of units forms a complete optical link between two devices. Fiber transmission is immune to electrical interference, making it ideal for large studios, outside broadcast and any run that is too long for copper.
